CrossRoads Bible Institute offers a top-notch academic and ministry training program that is comparable to the course
requirements of other Bible colleges, except there is one big difference. CrossRoads does not charge a set tuition, but
operates solely on a love offering basis. One might ask, “Why?” or “How?” Those are great questions that have clear,
biblical answers.

What was the attitude of Jesus Christ? You never see Christ or His disciples charging people for the blessings they
brought.  In Matthew 10:8, Christ instructed, “freely ye have received, freely give.” We have received so much through our
relationship with Christ and it did not cost us a thing. Why not follow Christ’s instruction and freely give of ourselves to
help others?

At CrossRoads, we realize that there are expenses that need to be met, but in the Bible, the pattern is that you minister
first and then trust God to meet your needs through God's people. Today, ministries charge up front to make sure
expenses are covered and then promise to bless others - where is the faith in that?

In the New Testament, the closest thing we can see to charging people is in Titus 1:11, and they are said to be teaching
“for filthy lucre's sake.” Paul condemns these false teachers and says their mouths must be stopped. Also the false
teachers of 2 Peter 2 are said to “make merchandise” of their followers.

What was Paul’s (the apostle to the Gentiles) attitude regarding requiring people to pay to hear the gospel?
Look at these verses below:

♦    “What is my reward then? Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I
abuse not my power in the gospel.”
1 Corinthians 9:18

♦     “Have I committed an offence in abasing myself that ye might be exalted, because I have preached to you the gospel of
      God freely?”
2 Corinthians 11:7

♦     “Neither did we eat any man's bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be
      chargeable to any of you.”
2 Thessalonians 3:8

The entire spirit of the New Testament is summed up at the very end, in Revelation 22:17, which reveals, “whosoever will,
let him take the water of life freely.”
This is the same word used when Jesus told his disciples, “freely you have received,
freely give.”

Our students in the past have been very gracious in giving to help meet the needs of CrossRoads Bible Institute and we
are very thankful for every love gift that we receive.  We are truly trusting God to meet the needs of CrossRoads Bible Institute.
